+poultry integrated farming system in one-hectare area. The production system
is suitable for adoption in North East Ghat
Area Requirement for the model:
One-hectare area
Enterprise and area allotment: Allocation of 40% area for field crops (rice, pulses, millets and
oil seeds), 50% area for horticulture (fruits, vegetables, root and tuber
crops, spices), 1% area for goatery (50 goats), and 0.5% area for poultry (100
poultry birds) and rest of area for silvicultural plants.
Income: Under optimum management the system gives net income of Rs. 200000-210000
per annum/ha with B: C ratio of 2.5. Field crop contributes 12%, horticulture
49%, goatery 33% and poultry 6% of the total income Under optimum management the system gives net income of Rs. 1,
20,000-150000 per annum/ha with B: C ratio of 2.3. Field crop contributes 15%,
vegetables 44%, animal husbandry 35%, apiculture 3% and mushroom 3% of the
total income
