Mid central tableland
- Angul and Dhenkanal districts comes under Mid central table land agro climatic zone. The zone experiences hot and dry sub humid climate with mean annual rainfall of 1421 mm, having mean maximum summer temperature of 38.70 C and mean minimum winter temperature of 14.00 C.
- Board soil groups of the region are red, lateritic, mixed red and black. Irrigation ratio of the region is 38.8%. Brahmani and Baitarani river basin enriches the agriculture of the zone. Hill plateaus are major land features of the region. Land type varies from unbunder upland to shallow lowland.
