It is a practice of land management to grow vegetables, fodder and fish right in the center of rice fields. This technology relies on crop rotation and nutrient management beyond restricting pest movement from one vegetable plot to another because of the fodder and rice in between them. The raised bed helps to reduce the salinity problem in degraded land & water

Area Requirement for the model:  One-hectare area

Enterprise and area allotment: It involves making of raised broad beds and sunken furrow alternatively. low area is utilized for growing rice long duration paddy cum fish (grass carp / singhi/magur) can be practiced in furrows and the raised bed area for growing of seasonal vegetable or fodder crop during monsoon season.

Income: Initial cost of establishment is Rs 45000/ha, and provide net return of Rs 1.2 lakhs/ha/year and B:C ratio: 4.78. The gross water productivity and net water productivity of the system is 8.96 Rs/m3, and 6.9 Rs/m3 Cropping intensity: 300% in the beds and 200% in the furrows
