Wheat
- Wheat is grown
in rabi season in some part of Odisha. Though it is not cultivated in a large
area still farmers are cultivating in some pockets.
- Wheat faces abiotic stresses like drought (low/no moisture), heat (high temperature), salinity (high salt concentration), alkalinity (high pH), and terminal heat stress.
In terminal heat stress wheat crop is affected if air temperature goes beyond 32°C during the reproductive and grain filling stage. Growing tolerant cultivars may increase the yield in stress-prone areas.
