Western undulating zone
- Kalahandi and Nuapada districts comes under Western
undulating zone agro-climatic zone. The zone experiences warm and moist climate
with mean annual rainfall of 1527 mm, having mean maximum summer temperature of
37.8 0 C and mean minimum
winter temperature of 11.9 0 C.
- Nagabali, Indravati and Vansadhara river basins
influences the crop production and civilization of the region. Board soil groups of the region are red,
black, mixed red and black. Irrigation ratio of the region is 29.4%. Based on
topography the land type varies from unbunded upland to shallow lowland.
