crops + vegetables + diary + poultry + piggery + goatery integrated farming
system model in one-hectare area. This production system is suitable for
adoption in Western undulating zones
Area Requirement for the model: One-hectare area
Enterprise and
area allotment: allocation of 70% area for field crops (rice, maize, millets,
pulses and oil seeds), 20% area for vegetables and rest 10% area for livestock
(dairy-2-3 cross breed cows, 50 back yard poultry birds + 4-5 goats + 4-5
pigs).
Income:
With optimum management the system gives net income of Rs. 1, 20,000 per
annum/ha with B: C ratio of 2.6. Field crop contributes 40%, vegetables 35% and
animal husbandry 25% of the total income from the system
