This integrated farming system model in
one-hectare area. The production system is suitable for adoption in Eastern
Ghats High land Zone
Area Requirement for the model: One-hectare area
Enterprise and area allotment: Allocation of 50% area for field crops (rice, maize, millets,
pulses and oil seeds), 40% area for vegetables and rest 10% area for livestock
(dairy 2-3 cross breed cows, + 50 back yard poultry birds + 5-10 goats)
Income: With
optimum management the system gives net income of Rs. 1, 10,000 per annum/ha
with B: C ratio of 2.4. Field crop contributes 25%, vegetables 40% and
livestock 35% of the total income from the system.
