Perosis
It occurs due to manganese deficiency in growing chicks. The
symptoms are enlargement of the hock joints and bending of the distal ends of
long bones. Shipped tendon causes loss of control over the legs. The disease is
incurable. It can be prevented by increasing sufficient quantity of manganese
salts in the feed.
