Infectious Coryza

This disease is caused by Haemophils gallinerum and PLO gems. The symptoms are inflammation of the head sinuses and respiratory passage leading to respiratory problem. The birds show inactivity, coughing and sneezing. There is neither any treatment nor any effective preventive medicine for this disease. The disease can be checked by improving the sanitary conditions and removing dampness.
This is caused due to the deficiency of vitamin D, calcium and phosphorus. It leads to poor growth, lameness, thickness of the leg bones, protuberance of the chest bone etc. of the young chicks.There is no effective treatment. Preventive measures include feeding bone or oyster shell mesh along with food and sufficient provision for exposures to sun-rays for the chicks.
