Oyster mushroom

Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus spp.) is another species of edible mushroom having excellent flavor and taste. It grows  relatively at low temperature (spawn phase:24-25°C, pinhead phase:10-15°C and fruiting phase 15-21°C) and completes its life cycle within 60-70 days having a biological efficiency (more than 100%).  It is commonly cultivated in Odisha, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Punjab. Oyster mushroom also known as Dingirichatu in Odisha  is cultivated in winter months (November-February) only and contributes 33% of its total production to the state.
