Rice

• If the nursery is not established, then sow for early to medium duration variety.

• In a timely transplanted crop wait for top dressing of fertilizer till sufficient moisture. In urgent situations, foliar spray of fertilizer may be done.

• In case of a prolonged dry spell antitranspirant may be sprayed.

• Apply irrigation at least in the maximum tillering stage.

• If mortality >50%, resow rice upto mid-August, else grow low water requiring crop (e.g. ragi).

• If mortality < 50%, gap-filling by using the leftover nursery.

• Apply full P, K + 20% of N + FYM (5 t/ha) during land preparation in the main field if not transplanted.

• Go for dry direct sowing

• In direct-sown field do not go for beaushening until there is sufficient moisture available.
