Pest/Disease management
- Neem powder @1-2 q/acre for nematode; seedling dip with 2 L cow urine, 1 kg termite soil, 1 kg cow dung into 10 L of water to control root disease.
- Yellow and blue colour sticky traps @10-25/acre to control sucking pests.
- Planting trap crops like marigold, onion and garlic.
- Placing Trichogramma eggs @20,000/acre.
- Fruit and shoot borer will be controlled by application of Neemastram and Agneyastram. Spraying 5% Neem seed kernel extract (NSKE) at every 20 days interval.
- To
manage fruit and shoot pests, fix pheromone traps in the field immediately
after transplanting upto harvesting.
- Plant marigold seedling in between brinjal @ 200 per acre to control soil-borne diseases.
