Suitable goat housing or shelter is important for goat farming business. Because goats also want a house or shed like other animals for staying at night, security, preventing them from adverse climate, cold, and sunlight etc. Rain water should not enter to the goat house. The goat shed should have enough space for taking rest. The basic requirements of goat housing are: A good water supply, good ventilation and drainage and flooring should not be slippery.
In indoors, goats requires at least about 15 square feet per animal, however, does have 20 to 30 square feet of indoor space that in the outdoor pasture 2 to 10 goats and can comfortably reside in 1 acre.
The house shed for goat can be prepared using locally available materials like bamboo, tree branches and straw etc.There are mostly two types of goat sheds used for goat rearing i.e. earthen floor type and Bhadi type one.
