Zero-till direct sowing rice; ZT-DSR
Rice (Zero-till
direct sowing rice; ZT-DSR)
Seed treatment – It is done with
bavistine at the rate of 2 g/kg seed and Imidacloropid 70 WS at the rate of 5
g/kg seed.
Field preparation
– No field preparation is required. Pre-sowing herbicide management is
done to clear the weeds in the field. Two applications of glyphosate @ 1.0 kg
ai/ha is recommended, first at 12-15 days before sowing and second at 6-7 days
before sowing.
Seeding time - Drill the dry seed of
rice at the start of monsoon i.e. when farmers put seed into nursery bed; May
3rd week to June 2nd week is optimum.
Sowing – Rice seeds are sown
by using zero till seed-cum-fertilizer drill in line. The row to row spacing
was maintained at 20 cm. For sowing about 40 kg seeds per ha are used.
Fertilizer
application – Chemical fertilizer application at the rate of 80:40:40 NPK is
recommended. Full dose of PK and 25% of N is applied along with the sowing of
seeds by zero till seed-cum-fertilizer drill. Remaining 50% N is applied at
maximum tillering and 25% at panicle initiation stage.
Weed management
– Spray bispyribac sodium (30 g/ha) at 8-10 days after emergence
(DAE; 2-3 leaf stage of weeds) to suppress early emergent grassy weeds and sedges.
If there are new flashes of grassy weeds, spray fenoxaprop-p-ethyl (60 g/ha) at
25-28 DAE (3-4 leaf stage of weeds).
Harvesting - Manual, leaving
stubble 30 cm from the ground.
