Sequence cropping

Sequence cropping involves growing more than one crop in the same field one after another with the succeeding crop planted after the harvest of the preceding crop. This crop production system preserves the natural resources and utilizes them more efficiently. Sequence cropping is usually followed if the rainy season is long enough or if there is enough moisture left in the soil to grow the second crop. The crops that can be taken as sequence crops are Black gram, Green gram etc.
