Conservation Agriculture

Conservation agriculture (CA) refers to such management practices that improves and sustain agricultural productivity, increase profits and food security along with preserving and enhancing the resource base and the environment. 

Conservation agriculture technologies involve minimum soil disturbance, permanent soil cover through crop residues or cover crops, and crop rotations for achieving higher productivity. CA has been characterized by the principles of holistic management of soil, water and other natural resources so as to fulfill objectives of the sustainable agricultural production.
