Rainfed
Rice is grown under different ecologies which can be largely categorized under rainfed and irrigated. The weed presuure is relatively high in rainfed rice.
Rainfed ecosytstem is further divided into
rainfed upland and rainfed lowland. The crop is direct seeded either under dry
condition in uplands. Transplanting is practiced mostly in rainfed lowlands.
Weed infestation is more in direct seeded rice compared to transplanted rice
under rainfed condition.
