Brown rice
Brown rice is a whole grain rice with the inedible outer hull removed. It is a rich source of dietary fibre, which can reduce the risk of death from heart disease. Brown rice also contains high levels of magnesium, which can help make us less vulnerable to heart disease and stroke.
Steps for preparation
- Pre-cleaning: When paddy comes into the mill it contains foreign material such as straw, weed, seed, soil and other inert material
- De-husking: The husk layer is removed from the paddy by friction and the process is called either de-husking or de-hulling
- Finally the process of brown rice is completed
