Farm
pond based IFS ensure livelihood of farmers especially in the underprivileged
areas having coastal salinity. Growing of saline tolerant fodders on the bunds
of farm pond to support cattle and goat production. This model is most suitable
for Rajnagar block of Kendrapada district especially in the disadvantaged areas having coastal salinity as a
constraint

ensure water harvesting and
multiple uses of water, addition of
bee-keeping, fisheries, Growing of saline tolerant fodders on the bunds
of farm pond to support cattle & goat production
Income: Rice + Vegetable + Duckery +
Apiculture+ Banana based farming system model in 4.2 ha area gave net
income of Rs 3, 40, 480 per year. It also generated additional employment of
804 man-days. Additional return of Rs
4000/- from 600 m2 pond can be obtained from the duck component
within four months through sale of eggs
