Heat Stress
In regions where the normal maximum temperature is
more than 40°C, if the day temperature exceeds 3°C above normal for 5 days it
is defined as a heat wave. Similarly, in regions where the normal temperature is
less than 40°C, if the day temperature remains 5°C above normal for 5 days, it
is called a heat wave. It mostly occurs during May and June. The heat wave for a prolonged time may exert stress on the crops.
