Soil Health Card Scheme

Objective:

Issue soil card to farmers to help them get good harvest by studying the quality of soil.
Target:

Issue soil cards to about 14 crore farmers spread across India. To help farmers to improve productivity from their farms by letting them know about nutrient/fertilizer requirements for their farms. Under the Soil Health Card Scheme, all soil samples are to be tested in various soil testing labs across the country. Thereafter the experts will analyse the strength and weaknesses (micro-nutrients deficiency) of the soil. It will also contain corrective measures that a farmer should adopt to obtain a better yield.

Scheme/Component: Soil Health Card

Type of Assistance: Distribution of Micronutrients & soil ameliorants.

Criteria for Assistance/maximum limit: Rs. 2500/ha.

Scheme/Component: Soil Health Card

Type of Assistance: Setting up to mini soil testing lab developed by ICAR technology.

Criteria for Assistance/maximum limit: 44% of the cost limited to Rs. 44,000 / lab for individual / private agencies through NABARD as a capital investment for 3000 samples per annum analysing capacity.

Type of Assistance: Setting up of Soil testing project at village level

Criteria for Assistance/maximum limit: 75% of the cost or Rs. 3,75,000 which ever is lower.
