one-hectare area. This production system is suitable for adoption in Western
Central Table land
Area Requirement for the model: One-hectare area
Enterprise and
area allotment: allocation of 35% area for field crops (rice, groundnut, redgram,
til, mustard, greengram), 55% area for horticulture (fruits, vegetables, root
and tuber crops) and rest 10% area for livestock (50 back yard poultry birds, 5
goats, 2-4 cross breed cows, 5-10 pigs) and 4-6 honey bee boxes and 200 beds of
Oyster mushroom in 2 cycle on field bunds
Income:
Under optimum management the system gives net income of Rs. 1, 20,000-150000
per annum/ha with B: C ratio of 2.3. Field crop contributes 15%, vegetables
44%, animal husbandry 35%, apiculture 3% and mushroom 3% of the total income.
