Mechanical Weed Control

  • Mechanical weed control by operating power weeder at 30 DAE is found very effective. Under this management option, the crop should be established at 25 cm apart rows, OR
  • Manually-operated cono-weeder or push type rotary weeder can also be operated at a late stage (30-35 DAE) with 3-5 cm depth of water. NRRI two row self-propelled weeder can also be used for late stage weed control.
