Integration of chemical weed control by spraying bispyribac sodium
at an early stage followed by mechanical weed control by operating power weeder
at 30 DAE is found very effective. Under this management option, the crop
should be established at 25 cm apart rows, AND/ OR
Manually-operated cono-weeder or push type rotary weeder can also be operated at a late stage (30-35 DAE) with 3-5 cm depth of water. NRRI two row self-propelled weeder and KalingaShakti power weeder can also be used for mechanical weeding.
