before sowing:Spray glyphosate @ 1.23 kg ai ha-1 before 15 days of
sowing to clearweeds from the field.

Sowing and seed rate:Using multi-crop
planter/zero till seed drill with rice residue in the field for sowing of maize
seeds. Maize seed rate of 30 kg ha-1 was used.
Herbicide
application:SprayAtrazine @ 0.5 kg ai ha-1 within 4-5 days after
sowing to control the weeds.
Nutrient management: NPK fertilizer
(120:50:50 kg ha-1) with N in three equal splits at sowing,
knee-high stage, and tasseling stage. Apply entire content of phosphorus and
potassic fertilizers as basal.
Harvesting: Manual
harvesting with and no maize residues in the field.
