Minimum tillage
Minimum tillage is a type of tillage
that involves minimal soil disturbance compared to conventional tillage. Tillage
can be reduced in two ways: 1) Omitting some of the operations that do not
give satisfactory benefit. For example, nursery bed raising can be eliminated
and rice seeds can be directly sown in the main field, and 2) Combining the
agricultural operations viz., seeding and fertilizer application using seed cum
fertilizer drill.
