Suggested Roadmap

  •        Hot-spot selection of Rice-fallow to be brought under specific pulse crops through crop cafeteria approach.
  •      Identifying the clusters for pyra crop and sequential crop.
  •      Meeting the seed requirement locally by establishing seed-hub at village level through KVK and extending production subsidy and seed subsidy.
  •      Relaxing seed certification norms, lifting of excess seed from the KVK by state govt.
  •      Creating supplemental irrigation facility through shallow tube wells, tank & lift irrigation, use of sprinklers.
  •      Selective introduction of multi seed platter/zero-till seed drill.
  •      Create thousands of clusters of rice pulses villages with convergent support of technologies, inputs and markets.
  •      Existing social arrangement of allowing free grazing of cattle after rice to be restricted.
  •      Convergence of schemes of such as NFSM, BGREI, Seed hub etc.
  •      Inclusion of pulses under PMFBY.
  •      Establish farmers agri-business consortia through farmer producer organisation.
  •      Enable the groups to do value addition at their own village level using improved dal mills, cleaning and packaging.
  •      Arrange sale/distribution of their produce at various outlets.
  •      Multilayer effective monitoring system and evaluate outputs, outcomes and impact and to fix differentiated accountability
