Cultural Management
- Deep ploughing of the orchard and exposing the soil to sunlight (May-June and Sept-October) minimize the incidence.
- Layers should be prepared only from healthy plants.
- The leaves should be checked regularly for symptoms over summer and autumn.
- The infested branches should be cut off and burnt.
- After harvesting in June, infested branches must be removed by pruning.
- Infested leaves should be gathered and burnt or buried deep in the ground.
- Just before flush/flower bud initiation, the affected shoots must be removed
