Cultural Management

Deep ploughing of the orchard and exposing the soil to sunlight (May-June and Sept-October) minimize the incidence.
Layers should be prepared only from healthy plants.
The leaves should be checked regularly for symptoms over summer and autumn.
The infested branches should be cut off and burnt.
After harvesting in June, infested branches must be removed by pruning.
Infested leaves should be gathered and burnt or buried deep in the ground.
Just before flush/flower bud initiation, the affected shoots must be removed
