Cultural Management

  • Destruction of fallen infested fruits checks the spread.
  •  Removal of flowering weeds especially of Compositae family.
  • Bagging of fruits with polythene or paper bags or cloth bags soon after the fruit set prevents the pest attack.
  • Endemic areas - grow least susceptible varieties
  • Use light trap @ 1/ ha to monitor the activity of adults
  • Release Trichogramma chilonis @ one lakh/ acre.
