Chemical management
- Mixing of carbaryl 10 D in soil @ 50-100 g/tree
- Fruit fly traps: Hanging plastic containers with bait (200ml) made of methyl eugenol 2 ml+ carbofuran 3G 3 g + water one litre to attract and kill adult flies
- Foliar spray with malathion 2 ml/lit or acephate 1.5 g/lit
- Bait spray - combining any one of the below insecticides (Malathion 50 EC 2 ml/lit or Dimethoate 30 EC 1 ml/lit or Carbaryl 50 WP 4 g/lit) and molasses or jaggery 10 g/lit, Spray two rounds at 2 weeks interval before ripening of fruits.
