Objectives
- Odisha fishery policy, 2015 has a mandate to popularize scientific pisciculture in the state to increase fish production as well as double the farmer’s income by 2022.
- In order to achieve this premier proposition, the horizontal expansion of fisheries through creation of water bodies (new tanks & ponds in private land) along with intensive aquaculture is suggested to ensure direct income generation and selfemployment.
- To increase the inland fish production to meet the demand of the State.
