Objectives

Odisha fishery policy, 2015 has a mandate to popularize scientific pisciculture in the state to increase fish production as well as double the farmer’s income by 2022.
In order to achieve this premier proposition, the horizontal expansion of fisheries through creation of water bodies (new tanks & ponds in private land) along with intensive aquaculture is suggested to ensure direct income generation and selfemployment.
To increase the inland fish production to meet the demand of the State.
