Apply
recommended dose of NPK (80-120 kg N: 40-60 kg P2O5:
40-60 kg K2O ha-1) + 5-10 t ha-1 FYM.

25% of recommended dose of NPK (20-30 kg N: 10-15 kg P2O5:
10-15 kg K2O ha-1, 50% of N all P and K should be applied
at the time of sowing , remaining 50% N after one month ) + Compost @ 10 t ha-1
+ Biofertilizers inoculants (Azotobacter chroococcum and phosphate
solubilizing bacteria (Bacillus megaterium) @250 g per10 kg of maize seed as
seed treatment before sowing) + green manuring with sunhemp ( Sunhemp seeds
should be sown at seed rate of 30 kg ha-1 at the row spacing of 60
cm by bullock drawn seed drill before sowing of maize, but at the same day.
Then
maize seed should be sown in these plots in between the rows of sunhemp.
Sunhemp crop should be incorporated into soil by bullock drawn plough without
damaging the maize crop at 40 days after sowing.)
