Steps for preparation

  • After harvesting and threshing, clean paddy free of foreign material, dust and debris
  • After cleaning soak it in water for 8 hrs
  • Drain the water and steam it for 20 minutes
  • Followed by aeration for 3 hrs and  heaping for 3 hrs
  • Then tempering is done for 1 hr
  • Finally sun dry it for 2-4 hrs till it dries to a final moisture content of 14%
