Steps for preparation

  • Soak Rice and Dal(1 cup) overnight.
  • In the morning, grind to a not so smooth paste using very little water.
  • Add crushed ginger, crushed pepper, crushed (6 green cardamom), cashew nuts(1/4cup), raisins(1/4cup ), jaggery (1/2 cup,adjust according to your personal preference), grated coconut and chopped coconut(slices1/2 cup) then mix properly.
  • In the meantime, preheat your oven at (170 for 10 minutes).
  • Grease your baking tray with ghee(2tsp) or clarified butter.
  • Pour the batter into it.
  • Transfer to baking tray
  • Put the baking tray to bake at (160 for 45 minutes).
  • Let the bake cool down completely for atleast an hour. If you have time, let it rest overnight before you de-mold.
  • Make pieces and serve
  • Cut into small pieces and enjoy the sweet PodaPitha.
