Black gram

Black gram is one of the most important pulse crops grown in India and is consumed as whole grain, split, husked, de-husked, perched. High quantity of lysine makes it an excellent accompaniment to rice in terms of balanced nutrition. It contains about 26% protein, which is almost three times that of cereals and other minerals and vitamins. The crop is resistant to adverse climatic conditions and improve the soil fertility by fixing atmospheric nitrogen in the soil. The average yield of  Odisha is 326 kg/ha annually. Moreover, phosphatic fertilizer prices also demand the need for recycling and exploitation of fixed phosphorus to improve crop production. Therefore, the current trend is to explore the possibility of supplementing fertilizers with organic manures and biofertilizers like :-

  1. Nitrogenous (N) bio-fertilizer
  2. Phospahtic (P) bio-fertilizer
  3. Potash (K) bio-fertilizer
