Sunflower

Sunflower is a major source of vegetable oil around the world. It primarily constitutes of unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic (50-65%) and oleic (25-40%), which are beneficial to heart patients. Yet, in terms of production, Odisha is fifth biggest producer in sunflower in India. Organic agricultural practises seek to improve biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity in order to achieve optimal natural systems that are socially, ecologically, and economically sustainable. As a result, chemical fertilizers are being phased out in favor of less expensive and more environmentally friendly bio-fertilizers such as :-

  1. Nitrogenous (N) bio-fertilizer
  2. Phosphatic (P) bio-fertilizer
  3. Potash (K) bio-fertilizer
